@Carey Lu and @Sean Chiang, We think that we changes lots component for material shortage. Is there any additional HW change to reduce material cost ? I think that you would like to change many major components and it need SW change too. So if you have any changes to reduce cost, it can be introduce this time. If you have any other HW or SW changes then please let us know. As you mentioned in the meeting, please let us know who will pay it for new certification and test ? |

Hi Mr.Yoon, @syyoon I've noticed that you had confirmed K18X001 2nd source introduction. (Also, I've checked with Sean, currently we have no other materials need to phase in due to cost reduction.) Thus, except for BT module, can you help to confirm the introduction of the rest three 2nd source suggestions for Eagle? As the global supply shortage issue is getting worse and worse, phase in 2nd source can help to mitigate the material shortage risk. Moreover, as for Eagle, following Fii internal rules, it requires only 4pcs DUT for reliability test. (+100pcs control run in VN factory) Please kindly help to feedback ALT's decision this week. Hi Carey Lu, We need to provide new HW and SW to SKB for their test. Normally we provide samples as follows : 1. BMT samples - 20 pcs 2. SKB QA samples - 10 pcs for function test and 5 for aging test 3. ALT samples - 5 for develop and debug And we would like to ask you how many ECO you plan. If we apply all new components at once, then we can provide additional sample at once. But if you plan to introduce new components separately, then you should provide samples whenever you introduce new components. And please let us know as follows : 1. Which test will you do for each component change ? How many q'ty will you use for each test? 2. How will you handle BQB/KC fee ? 3. How will you start to introduce 2nd source ? PIN-to-PIN components will be the first priority ? Or all the components will be introduced in separately ? I can agree based on your proposal. So could you provide it as soon as possible ? |

Hi Mr. Yoon, The supply status of CYPRESS BT CYW20704 & ETH PHY Realtek RTL8211F-CG is getting worse and worse. So, we need your help to discuss internally and feedback whether you agree to phase in or not ASAP. (Also need your help to push ALT business team to feedback the 2nd source phase in cost issue.) For non pin to pin 2nd source, we plan to arrange 2 rounds build as SWAN did. Therefore, as you've requested 40pcs sample, please check the schedule attached and help to suggest when to arrange the sample shipment? 1. BMT samples - 20 pcs --> send after 1st or 2nd build? 2. SKB QA samples - 10 pcs for function test and 5 for aging test --> send after 1st or 2nd build? 3. ALT samples - 5 for develop and debug --> send after 1st or 2nd build? Hi Ms. Carey Lu I think you will introduce 2nd source with 2 phases. One is for PIN-TO-PIN and the other is for NON-PIN-TO-PIN. Sample delivery. 1st Round : We need samples for BMT and QA. And we also need for our development Before start BMT and QA, we should provide our test result to SKB. SKB will decide test item when they start BMT based on their SW release schedule. If we change PHY IC, then we should test their Network environment test. It should be started before BMT. They will start BMT If there is no issue on Network test. So we need our development samples ASAP include HW EMI Test. 2nd Round : We need samples for BMT and QA. It is same situation as above. For KC certification, we can start with final HW. So if you provide it when you are ready of Final HW. Normally KC needs 4 week if there is any issue. We already get KC certification. So we don't need full KC certification. If you want to introduce all components changes at once, then you can provide these samples for BMT and QA at once. SKB BMT & QA Schedule : SKB decide it based on their new SW release schedule even though we don't need SW changes. Normally new product need 35-working days. But I think we may reduce days for our 2nd source introduction. But it should be decided by SKB. They will decide how much SW and HW are changed. If you need any explanation, then let's have con-call. |

Need your help to check 1) Fiti phase in sample DUT Qty for ALT 2) ALT would like to introduce ETH PHY & BT together due to KC certification. However, the Realtek RTL8211F-CG ETH PHY supply status is really critical(even worse in 2022), so we suggest to introduce it first instead of doing it together with Ampak BT(takes more time). Hi Carey Lu, I cannot guarantee new STBs will not use with RCU BA02. New STBs will be provide with BA03, but if the customer lost RCU then SKB provide various RCUs. So our STBs can support various RCU BA01, BA02, BA03, BT10, BT11 and old version of RCU. I think we should not have any restriction to use various RCUs that SKB has been used.
